Homemade Applesauce – In A Crockpot

I love knowing what is in my food. When it comes to some store-bought applesauce you never really know how much sugar you're eating or what preserving ingredients it may include. So I decided to make my own applesauce and I found out it'sĀ easier than you think!

Ingredients
  • 5 Apples
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Crockpot (5-6 quarts)
Instructions
  1. Peel, core, and chop 5 apples.
  2. Add chopped apples, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and 1 tsp cinnamon to the crockpot.
  3. Set to HIGH and cook for 4-6 hours. Time depends on thick apple slices are.
  4. Use a potato masher or immersion blender to get applesauce to desired consistency.
  5. Enjoy warm or let cool. Store in a sealed container and keep refrigerated.
