I love knowing what is in my food. When it comes to some store-bought applesauce you never really know how much sugar you’re eating or what preserving ingredients it may include. So I decided to make my own applesauce and I found out it’s easier than you think!

  • Peel, core, and chop 5 apples.
  • Add chopped apples, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and 1 tsp cinnamon to the crockpot.
  • Set to HIGH and cook for 4-6 hours. Time depends on thick apple slices are.
  • Use a potato masher or immersion blender to get applesauce to desired consistency.
  • Enjoy warm or let cool. Store in a sealed container and keep refrigerated.
